Da Vinci Flight Students Make First Virtual Cross Country Flight

09/20/2011 21:07

Students in Aviation 101 received a surprise today when they learned that they would have to apply the flight skills they've been practicing for the past three weeks in order to make a cross country flight from John Wayne Airport to Ramona Airport, the same city that they visited for their freshman overnight just a few weeks ago.  Students learned the term "dead reckoning" and put it into practice by calculating their magnetic heading and timing their flight to their destination.  To see the students in action, visit our photogallery!
