With the start of the fall 2011 school year, Da Vinci Science Charter High School students will be given an opportunity that currently does not exist at any local high school in the Los Angeles area:  the chance to begin real flight training in a high school classroom.  Giving Kids Wings Flight Academy will be offering Aviation 101:  Private Pilot, an introductory course where students will learn all of the flight knowledge necessary to pass the FAA Private Pilot written exam.  They also will be mastering flight skills on computer-based flight training devices, and will earn a virtual pilots license upon completion of all the required practical skills.  All of this training will be given by an FAA-licensed ground instructor with seven years of public school teaching experience.  Contact GKWFA for more information and for the possibility of having a flight program at your school!
